材料1:贞观四年起,日本不断派“遣唐使”到中国来,至唐后期894年止,遣唐使到达中国的有十三次。随同大使、副使来的还有学者、学问僧、留学生、画师、医生、工匠、水手等。
材料2:647年,天竺摩揭陀国遣使来中国;随即,唐太宗派人到天竺,“取熬糖法,即诏扬州上诸蔗,作沈如其剂,色味愈西域远甚。”
材料3:唐初,阿拉伯半岛上大食兴起,651年侵占了波斯,波斯国王插斯路和他的儿子泥捏斯来到唐朝,客居长安,后来先后客死长安。波斯商人的足迹遍于长安、洛阳、扬州、泉州、广州。他们贩买珠宝、香药及西域、南海一带的土产。中国的丝绸、瓷器、纸张等商品也大量运往波斯,并被波斯商人转销到西方。
材料4:大食于651年遣使和唐朝相通……安史之乱时,唐借大食兵帮助收复长安和洛阳。
